Blue Box storage in Rolleston has priced its storage units to give excellent value for money storage to both residential and commercial customers.

Our storage units are predominantly 20′ shipping containers that have been used as storage units from new. The container storage units are wind and watertight, verminproof and all come fitted with a tamperproof steel lockbox, all you have to provide is the padlock or padbolt.

Security

Security of goods stored is provided at a site wide level and at an individual storage unit level.

Blue Box Storage have invested in the latest and best available Gallagher Security alarm monitored electrified perimeter fence coupled with a client specific electronic swipe access system which operates a motorised single point entry/exit gate.  Movement in, out and around the Blue Box Storage site is recorded using a number of CCTV surveillance cameras operating at the main gate point of entry/exit and at other locations on the site.

Individual storage units are fitted with steel lock boxes which, when used with a purpose built padbolt, makes it extremely difficult to gain unauthorised access to the individual storage unit.

Each customer has a unique electronic swipe access tag that grants them entry and exit to and from the storage facility 24/7.  The access control system records entry and exit time to assist with identifying which customers are on site or have been on site at any given time.

To access the site just wave your swipe access tag in front of the proximity reader situated on the left hand side of the gate. No numbers to remember and key-in just swipe your tag in front of the reader and the gate will open.

Once your electronic swipe access tag has registered with our access control system it will send a signal to the motorised single access point electric gate to open to allow customers access.  It will remain open for 16 seconds and then commence closing if, and only if, the safety beams are not obstructed.  If the beam is obstructed the gate will not close until the beam detects that the obstruction no longer exists.  Customers must use their swipe access tags to open the gate at entry and exit.  There are proximity readers situated on each side of the gate for this purpose.

The moisture collected is turned into a gel when absorbed by the active ingredients. Can absorb up to 130% of its dry weight. Leak-proof and safe to use, with no liquid waste.

SuperDry boxed container desiccant (hangs inside container corrugation): $35

What are your hours of operation?

Our site does not operate fixed hours of opening. The owner/manager can be contacted on 021 860 122 to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet on site.Customers have electronic access to the storage site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

How much will storage cost?

The cost of storage depends on the size of the unit. Please refer to our rates page for more information. Our most popular unit is a 20′ std height storage unit providing 33.2 cubic meters. This unit costs $39 (inc GST) per week.

What accessories do you offer?

We have container padbolts available as well as various sizes of moisture absorbing silica gel. 

Is there a minimum storage period?

Our storage contracts have a 4 week minimum period. Thereafter, you can cancel your storage contract by giving 7 days notice.  If you have already paid for storage to a date beyond the termination date we will refund any unused storage fees.

How do I book a storage unit?

To reserve a storage unit just give us a call or text us on 021 860 122 and we can discuss availability.  We will hold a storage unit for you for up to one week at no charge.

Before occupying the storage unit, we require you to sign a storage agreement with us.  Usually this is done at the Blue Box Storage site but we can email this to you in advance by arrangement.

If you do not complete a storage agreement within the week, we will release your booking for the storage unit.

What initial costs are involved?

We do not require any deposit from customers.  When you first sign up for your Blue Box Storage unit, we require payment of 4 weeks storage in advance. You will also need a padlock to secure your storage unit. Blue Box Storage can sell you a special container padbolt (recommended) or you can provide your own.

How often and when can I access my unit?

You may enter your storage unit as often as you like on a 24/7 basis providing your account is up to date.  If your account falls into arrears, we have the right to switch off your access to the site until your account is current again.

What do I do when I'm finished with my storage unit?

When you decide that you no longer need the unit, then please provide us with at least 7 days notice. If we owe you a refund for any part period of unused rent you will need to provide us with your bank account details so we can refund you directly to your bank account.

What payment methods do you accept?

We invoice on 4 weekly billing cycles and most customers set up an automatic payment with their bank to ensure that their invoice payment is direct credited into our bank account.

We can process your first payment through EFTPOS on site and you can make subsequent payments through PayPal.

We can accept cheque and cash payments but prefer monies to be direct credited to our bank account or paid through PayPal.

When signing up and paying your first invoice, we have mobile EFTPOS to facilitate payment via debit or credit card.
